Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Trauma therapy is not to remove the trauma memory, but to create a “static” around it that does not impact you in a negative way daily. The client will develop distress tolerance skills, develop positive self-beliefs, learn resources to manage distress, work through difficult feelings, and process trauma memories. All ages benefit from trauma therapy. EMDR and TF-CBT Trauma therapies are often used in our practice.
Children need to learn how and what to do with their emotions. Our approach with children is placed in the world they live in - PLAY. We use play therapy techniques, and others, to help the child make good decisions, learn how to decrease impulsiveness, reduce self-harming behaviors, and verbalize their needs and desires.
Children that have experienced trauma don’t know how to ask for help. Trauma responses can look like bad behavior, acting out, impulsivity, school struggles, aggression, nightmares, easily agitated, avoidance, anger, sadness, overly cautious and blaming.
We can help children work through these issues.
Family therapy is often used to assist a family in getting along better, understanding each other, creating connections, and setting boundaries. If a family is living in different home environments, they can benefit from a counselor's interventions and techniques to offer stable and consistent parenting styles.
Family situations affect families differently. Children may have behavior issues, parents have stress, anxiety, and depression. Add another family unit to the situation to create a blended family-and there’s even more to work through for all family members.
We work with all aspects of divorce –
children dealing with divorce, parents recovering from divorce, and blended families.
Parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) is a behavior-based, family-oriented therapy designed to help improve the parent-child relationship through interaction. In this modality, child-directed interaction can help facilitate the development of effective parenting techniques.
This approach is often effective for children who are at risk, who have experienced abuse, and/or who have conduct issues or other behavioral concerns. Parents who are seeking therapy to address these concerns in their children or to improve interactions with their children may find this a beneficial approach. (Reference: Good Therapy.com)
This theory and interventions are based in social interactions and attachments.

Counseling can be beneficial to parents to learn parenting techniques and offer options for discipline, parenting, and co-parenting. Our 15-session program teaches parents ways to be better parents and connect with their children.
First responders have a different form of trauma, and we get it! You need a Counselor that understands where you are at and helps you get where you want to be.
The “Suck it up” culture needs to be diminished. You see more trauma than most and suffer alone because of this mentality – its ok to ask for help!
“A healthy workforce is critical for public safety professionals and the communities they serve,”

The agency provides services which assist an individual in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, and/or other services. Case management services may be used to locate, coordinate, and monitor necessary appropriate services. It may be used to encourage the use of cost-effective medical care by referrals to appropriate providers and to discourage over utilization of costly services. Case management may also serve to provide necessary coordination of non-medical services such as vocational rehabilitation, education, employment, when the services provided enable the individual to function at the highest level.
Online sessions are held from the safety of your own home at a time that is convenient for you through each therapist's own online link. We meet through Doxy.me. Each therapist has an individual link to their waiting room - posted on the therapist page.
With online therapy - Please maintain a 'therapeutic environment' that includes privacy, no participants that are not part of the therapeutic process, decreased distractions, and a quiet space where you can hear, and the therapist can hear you.
Your camera needs to be on at all times during online therapy sessions, there is much more than your words involved in therapy!
